Terms of Use
Effective July 23, 2026
By using PDFree you agree to these terms. They're short, so please read them.
What PDFree is
PDFree is a free PDF editor that runs in your web browser. All processing happens on your device; we never receive your documents. The service is provided free of charge and may be supported by advertising.
Your documents are your responsibility
Because your files never reach us, we cannot back them up, restore them, or verify what the editor produced. Always review the saved PDF before relying on it, especially redacted documents: confirm that removed content is actually gone before sharing a file. Keep copies of your originals.
Acceptable use
Don't use PDFree to break the law, including editing documents to commit fraud, forgery, or to infringe others' rights. You are solely responsible for the documents you edit and what you do with them.
No warranty
PDFree is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Features may change or be removed at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFree and its creators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the service.
Intellectual property
The PDFree name, design, and source code are proprietary; the source is visible for transparency but not licensed for redistribution. Your documents remain entirely yours; we claim no rights over anything you edit.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
